NetZero Nets

Client: Garmin

Problem: Ghost nets kill 650,000 marine animals each year, drifting for decades and damaging ecosystems for centuries.

Insight: If we can create biodegradable bottles, why not fishing nets?

Solution: The first self-disappearing fishing net, designed with biodegradable polymers that break down in seawater after 24 months, aligning with the natural lifespan of conventional nets.

New Tech: Time-Release Bioplastics

Execution: Garmin creates NetZero, fisherman nets that biodegrade after 24 months in sea water, the normal lifespan of a net. If the nets get lost, a GPS tracker on it will pinpoint where it is for immediate retrieval.
